As from 1st January 2010 Salford Children's Rights Service will be transferring from Spurgeons to The Children's Society [TCS]. Whilst we hope for a seamless handover we would ask everyone involved with the service to be aware of the change and bear with us during the transition period. We will continue to give priority to our work with young people and volunteers within the new service.Welcome to Salford Children's Rights Service We work with children and young people from Salford, who are in Care or Leaving Care. Salford Children's Rights Service is funded by Salford Children's Services. The service was set up in 1995 and has grown substantially in recent years. We are part of The Children's Society a registered international charity.
What We Do....
Advocacy Service Advocates do one to one work with young people and can be a source of advice, support, raise awareness about their rights and be a listening ear. Volunteering Our service largely depends upon volunteers. We train and support volunteers to become Independent Visitors (IVs).IVs befriend children and young people and build up a long term relationship with an individual. We are always looking for volunteers to give up some of their spare time to support children and young people, click here to find out more.
