We are a small service that works with children and young people from Salford who are living in Care. We are employed by a charity, The Children's Society, and are funded by the local authority, Salford City Council. All good local authorities ensure they have Childrens Rights Services for children and young people in Care and leaving Care to provide independent support and advice.
We are called Salford Childrens Rights Service because all children who live in Care or who are leaving Care have a right to an advocate and many of them have a right to an Independent Visitor (IV).
